Richmond Roots Nancy has called Richmond home since she was hired as a teacher by the Richmond School District in 1975. She was instrumental in developing field hockey in the school district and at the community level.

Did You Know Many girls who have played with Richmond Field Hockey have gone on to play at Canadian and American universities.

Barriers Overcome For the first 15 years, most of the club's league games were on the road due to the lack of suitable fields. Nancy and other volunteers spent countless hours mowing and lining the fields.

Recognition Nancy has been recognized with numerous awards throughout her involvement with field hockey. She has won the Sport BC Presidents Award along with the Builder Award from the Richmond Sports Awards. The Richmond Field Hockey Club has established an annual scholarship honoring Nancy and her husband Lance's contribution to the sport.
