Matt Phillips
PROFILE
Matt has made his mark in Richmond high school sports. After his playing days, he created three Richmond high school football programs and over the years his legacy has given many young football players (not only from within Richmond but also the entire Lower Mainland) the opportunity to play.
Richmond Roots Matt founded and coached the Steveston Secondary School Football program. Matt later went on to start football programs at Cambie Junior High and London Junior Secondary.
Barriers Overcome Matt started his high school football programs with nothing - much of his equipment was donated by existing programs. Matt later donated the equipment to Hugh Boyd Junior High, paying it forward and allowing the junior high to become a football feeder school.
