Lance Carey

An Olympian, field hockey coach, and builder. Lance played for Canada's men’s teams at the 1975 Pan Am Games and the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.

Richmond Roots Lance is a longtime Richmond resident and he was a coach with Richmond Field Hockey from 1970s-2000's.

Recognition He was named Richmond Sports Award builder of the year in 2000. The Vancouver-Richmond High School Field Hockey league named their championship the "Carey Cup" in recognition of Lance and his wife Nancy.

Championship He coached the "Eagles”, who won six provincial championships over a nine-year period.

Contribution to Richmond Sport Inaugural member of the Richmond Sports Council and honoured as a lifetime member in 2013.
