Jim Mills
PROFILE
Jim enjoyed playing profession Football for over a decade. He started his career in 1983 with the Baltimore and then Indianapolis Colts and went on to play in the CFL with the BC Lions, Ottawa Rough Rides and finished his Career back with the BC Lions. Throughout his career Jim was an award winning Offensive Lineman.
Richmond Roots Jim was born and raised in Richmond, attending Palmer and Cambie Jr. High and from Richmond High in 1979. Jim went on to play football for the University of Hawaii.
Did You Know In 1988, despite missing 7 games due to a knee injury he was still named an All-Canadian and All Western All-Star.
Barriers Overcome Upon graduating from Richmond High, Jim received a scholarship to the University of Hawaii to play football. Jim was challenged to grow up quickly as he learned to balance athletics and academia while living in Hawaii.
MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
Recognition During his CFL career Jim has recognized as a 3 time Western All-Star Offensive Tackle, a 3 time All-Canadian Offensive Tackle, and a time Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman. Jim has also twice received the DeMarco-Beckett Memorial Trophy for the most outstanding Linemen in the Western Division.
All Awards
Championship Jim played in the 1988, (76th) Grey Cup with the BC Lions vs. the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The game was decided by one point with the Blue Bombers winning.
