Jennifer Joyce
PROFILE
Jennifer was an avid athlete, playing multiple sports growing up including soccer, volleyball and track. Jennifer’s accomplishments started with Kajaks Track & Field Club, after which and she went to have continued success at university, national and international levels.
Richmond Roots Born and raised in Richmond, Jennifer attended various elementary schools and graduated from McRoberts Secondary in 1998. Jennifer grew up one block away from Minoru Park and used to walk to track and field practice every day, rain or shine.
Did You Know Jennifer was the second Canadian women to break the 70 meter barrier in the hammer throw.
Barriers Overcome Overcame a severe back injury in 2007 to achieve the Olympic standard and qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games. Unfortunately, she was not selected to the team after her qualification result was not accepted.
MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
Recognition Jennifer has been recognized as the high school athlete of the year by the Richmond Sports Awards. Later she was inducted into the McRoberts Secondary Hall of Fame Class of 2014. At the University of California Jennifer went on to be a two-time NCAA All-American and Pac-Ten Conference Champion.

Contribution to Richmond Sport Jennifer started her coaching career with Richmond Girls Soccer, and then went on to coach at the University of California. Jennifer now coaches professionally at the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific in Victoria.
