Doug Clement
PROFILE
Canadian Olympian, Co-founder of Richmond Kajaks, sports medicine doctor. As an athlete, Dr. Clement competed in the 1952 Olympic Games in 400 metre and 4x400 metre relay and again in the 1956 Olympics, he participated in the 400, 800 and 4x400 metre relay.
Richmond Roots He was a founder and coach of the Richmond Kajaks Track and Field Club and was a Richmond resident from 1960-1981.
Did You Know The Clement Track at Minoru Park is named after Doug and his wife Diane.

Recognition Member of the Canada Olympic Committee Hall of Fame, BC Sports Hall of Fame and UBC Sports Hall of Fame.

Dr. Clement was a leading proponent of exercise being a contributor to the prevention of heart disease.
