Carl Savage
PROFILE
As Carl further developed his coaching skillset he always looked for the moment where his athletes “eyes would light up” as they overcame a given challenge. The spirit of the club’s athletes and coaches inspired Carl to volunteer for over 30 years with the Kajaks Track and Field Club.
Richmond Roots In 1965 Carl moved from the UK to Prince Rupert to begin his teaching and coaching career. In 1967 he moved to Richmond to continue his teaching and coaching career. Since moving he has worked as a teacher, vice-principle and principal. Carl coached with Kajaks for 33 years from 1967 – 2000.
Did You Know Joined Kajaks in 1967 with the promise from Doug Clement that it would just be “one or two nights a week.”
