Achievement in Sports
Approved by City Council annually, based on recommendations from a Nominating Committee, the City of Richmond Sports Wall of Fame recognizes individuals and teams who have attained a high level of achievement and significantly contributed to sports in the local community and beyond.
The Richmond Sports Wall of Fame was established in 2015 to celebrate the rich history of sport in Richmond and recognize the outstanding achievements of Athletes, Masters Athletes, Teams, Coaches, Officials, Builders, Pioneers and Special Achievements within the Richmond community.
Celebrate the Legacy
The Richmond Sports Wall of Fame and digital kiosk are both located in the Richmond Olympic Oval, which visitors can visit at no cost. Located in the lobby on the first floor, the Richmond Sports Wall of Fame showcases all award recipients and inductees. The digital kiosk is on the second floor as part of the History of Sports Exhibit, highlighting each inductee’s accomplishments.
Inductees
Each inductee’s name, including their achievements and contributions, is highlighted on both the Richmond Sports Wall of Fame and the digital kiosk. Nominations are accepted until December 31 each year, followed by the induction in the next calendar year. Any individual or association may submit their nomination online, by mail or by email.
